Stevenage Community Trust Charity Golf Day 2022
7th July 2022
Stevenage Community Trust Charity Golf Day 2022
It was another glorious day for the 28th Stevenage Community Trust Charity Golf Day. Knebworth Golf Club was again the venue for this premier business event sponsored by Tollers Solicitors.
Gathering together members of the Hertfordshire business community, this year’s event saw yet another very competitive field, including last year’s winners from Stevenage Packaging Ltd, founding members of the trust, back to defend their title.
Bacon rolls preceded the 1pm tee off as teams drove forward in the hope of winning the main prize provided by Homes and Mortgages Estate Agents. This year again saw the return of the Champagne challenge at the 14th hole, sponsored by The Wine Society and the Yellow Ball Competition, sponsored by Lloyd and Co Employee Benefits. Other competitions throughout the day saw the teams go all out as they reached the final hole, with one player even managing a hole in one but keeping it a secret until after he’d left the clubhouse to avoid a rather large round!
The close fought battle saw Stevenage Packaging, rise to the top for the second year running before the teams gathered on the clubhouse patio for a beautiful BBQ dinner, prize presentation and charity auction.
The event raised a total of £7,773 which will go directly to the people of Stevenage in need through the work of the trust.
The trust would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all of this year’s sponsors, including Moore, Stevenage Packaging Ltd, Ice Sculptures Ltd, Brown & Lee Chartered Surveyors, Majestic Wines, Old Town Barbers, Stevenage Football Foundation, Knebworth Golf Club, GCIS (UK) Ltd, Daines Kapp, Sala Thong, Surma, Misya Meze & Grill, Martin’s Driving Academy, Tranquil Turtle, Ace Taxies, The Fish & Chip Shop, Gate of India, Gangnam Restaurant, Northampton Golf Club, Brocket Hall, Stevenage Golf Club, Stowmarket Golf Club, Berkhamsted Golf Club, Qualiflex Digital, L&S sign and to Chris Jenks for the wonderful photos capturing the day.
A happy golfer commented: “A really fantastically enjoyable & well organised day – thanks for all the hard work you & your team put into it.”
Duncan Nicholson, Tollers Chief Executive Officer added “Tollers were delighted to once again support this event. Thank you to Mark and the team at Knebworth for helping make the day go smoothly, as well as all the other sponsors who helped make the day one to remember. The SCT Golf Day has become a calendar highlight for many local businesses, and we had some new teams this year too. It was great to hear how many people were already looking forward to next year’s event. Congratulations to Stevenage Packaging on retaining their title, it sounds like there may be tough competition for the trophy next year!”
Stevenage Community Trust would love to see more new teams at next year’s event, save the date 29th June 2023 and contact the team at the trust to reserve your space in advance.
