Stevenage Community Trust was pleased to have been chosen as one of the beneficiaries of MBDA's Community Dinner which took place on 8th October 2009. Based on classic films; the event saw guests arrive dressed as their favourite characters. They were then taken on a walk along the red carpet and had their photo taken whilst being presented with an Oscar by Barry Norman, our guest speaker. After a champagne reception, which included short performances by students from Barnwell School, guests took part in the movie themed quiz and were offered the chance to buy movie memorabilia at the auction, with guest auctioneer David Croft from Radio 5 Live.  Following dinner, Barry Norman shared some highly entertaining experiences with the audience which were enjoyed by all. Our thanks go out to MBDA (UK) Ltd for hosting a thoroughly enjoyable evening, and all those who attended and supported the event. The evening raised a spectacular £7,000 which has been equally divided between Stevenage Community Trust and Phoenix Group for Deaf Children.
